Winter News

front door design by Vases Wild
Holiday Greetings!  Last week I spent a lot of time thinking about the things for which I'm thankful.  There's a lot of them.  But at the top of the list is being able to live our dream of raising our girls here on Whidbey, being supported by our amazing community of customers, friends, family, and awesome crew.  Thank you very much.  I am also very thankful because Georgie Smith of Willowood Farms grew more brussels sprouts than ever and they are back on the menu...and that makes me HAPPY!

Holiday info:
Open Christmas Eve lunch only, Closed Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas all day.
New Year's Eve...join us for our traditional fancy and festive celebration.  Danny Ward will entertain us with his smooth jazz sax tunes, we will offer a special champagne menu, and extra special specials!  As we do each year we will be selling the whacky and fun hat creations from Tuzzie Muzzie.  Please make reservations soon...we are already filling up!

We are SO thrilled to announce The Natanya Johnson Scholarship Fund, which awards a two year scholarship in the Culinary Arts, the Red Spatula Award, to one young woman from South Whidbey each year.  Natanya was our beloved pastry chef who passed away from complication of Type 1 Diabetes over a year ago.  We will have numerous fundraising opportunities for this fund, the next is coming up this Friday, November 30th, her birthday.  "Little Taste of Heaven" is a dine out type of night where MANY participating restaurants will contribute in some way.  We will be donating the sales of our desserts from that day.  We have a huge list of participating restaurants on the South End as well as a number of Seattle establishments!  Of course we will accept donations at any time as well.  All donations for the Natanya Johnson Scholarship Fund are 100% tax deductible. If you are interested in contributing, please make checks out to the South Whidbey Schools Foundation; a thank you letter will provide the tax ID number for donor’s records. Please send checks to Prima Bistro, P.O. Box 976 Langley, WA 98260.  A website is being created, but current info can be found on the facebook page that we've created.

One of our servers here at Prima, Tyla Nattress, has just launched a kickstarter project with her family.  The "Orchard Kitchen" would be an amazing food hub, right outside of Langley.  I believe it's an awesome opportunity for this community.  Please support and share this wonderful project!
